The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new system that allows candidates to upload their O’level results from home, removing the need to visit a Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre to complete the process.
JAMB’s Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Fabian Benjamin, announced the development on Monday in a statement shared on X.

He said the board had connected its systems with examination bodies, starting with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), to verify candidates’ Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) results directly at the source.
“As a responsive organisation committed to providing efficient and accessible services, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has facilitated the verification of candidates’ O’Level results directly from the various examination bodies responsible for conducting the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination, beginning with the West African Examinations Council,” Benjamin said.
Why JAMB Made the Change
Benjamin said the initiative is part of a drive by JAMB’s sixth Registrar, Prof Segun Aina, to build a more technology-driven service.
The board identified several recurring problems with the old manual upload process, including misplaced or mixed-up paper results, the submission of unverified or fraudulent results, and errors made when candidates entered their subjects and grades by hand.
“By using technology to reduce unnecessary visits to CBT centres, queues and manual processes, JAMB is putting candidate ease of service delivery at the centre of its operations,” Benjamin said.
Step-by-Step Process for Candidates
To use the new system, candidates must follow these steps:
1. Visit buyresultsverificationcode.ng and enter your NIN, then click “Verify NIN.”
2. Select the number of sittings and the relevant examination body, then click “Continue.”
3. Enter your email address and phone number, then click “Pay Now” and complete payment via debit card or bank transfer.
4. Enter your examination number, series, and year to obtain your Verification Code.
5. Send “VERIFY” followed by your Verification Code to 55019 or 66019. Your result will be uploaded and a notification sent to you.
6. Candidates with two sittings should log into the JAMB e-Facility portal, click “2026 UTME O’Level Upload,” enter the Verification Code, and select between five and nine subjects with no subject repeated.
7. Click “Apply the O’Level Results” to complete the upload and receive a confirmation notification.
Benjamin added that the board would continue working with examination and government agencies to make its services simpler and more accessible, particularly during high-demand periods when network congestion at CBT centres tends to create delays for candidates.
JAMB: Courses candidates who scored 140-180 can choose
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that for candidates who scored between 140 and 180 in the UTME, several programmes remain available across science, arts and commercial disciplines.
The candidates may only have to make compromises on institutions of choice or preferred courses of study.
