Moyomade Adegbite, a 21-year-old Lagos State University graduate, has drawn widespread admiration online after sharing the journey that led him from repeated JAMB attempts to completing a computer science degree with a first-class lower result.
Adegbite opened up about his path on his X page, @moyomadee7, and later shared more personal details with Legit.ng directly.

From secondary school to LASU admission
After finishing secondary school in 2020, Adegbite chose not to sit for JAMB that year, explaining that he wanted to learn a skill and felt he was not yet ready for university life. He attempted to learn graphic design during that same period but stopped after months, citing the absence of a laptop as a barrier.
Rather than wait until he could afford one, he found a workaround. In 2022, he began teaching himself frontend development using only his mobile phone.
That same year, @moyomadee7 wrote his second JAMB and secured admission to LASU to study computer science, having fallen short of the cut-off mark in his previous attempt.
“In 2022, I still couldn’t afford a laptop but I decided to take things into my own hands and started learning frontend development on my mobile phone,” he wrote.
How university life shaped Adegbite
By his own admission, Adegbite entered LASU with a straightforward goal: earn the degree and leave. He maintained that mindset through his first two years of study. The shift came in his third year, when he applied to join the LASU debate society for the second time. He went through an interview process, was accepted as a trainee, and eventually became a full member.
That experience appeared to broaden his outlook beyond his original academic targets.
After completing his studies, Adegbite announced his final result on X, posting:
“Computer Science. First class lower (4.37/5.0).”

LASU graduate cries out for job
