A Nigerian man who goes by the name Femicity on TikTok has sparked conversation online after sharing a stark warning for Nigerians considering relocating to the United Kingdom, drawing on his own experience of two years living in London.
In his video, Femicity did not mince words about the financial strain of life in the British capital.

He said that throughout his two years in London, every pound he earned went straight towards covering rent and utility bills, leaving him with nothing to show for his time there.
Frustrated by the cycle, he eventually packed up and moved to Newcastle, a city in the north-east of England, and is now urging others to consider doing the same before they commit to London.
The Cost of Living in London
Femicity‘s message was direct and personal. According to him, no one warned him before he made the decision to japa to London, and he does not want other Nigerian immigrants to make the same costly mistake.
“I lived in London for 2 years and all my salary goes towards rent and bills,” he said.
His testimony reflects a concern that many Nigerians in the UK quietly share but rarely say aloud. London consistently ranks among the most expensive cities in the world for renters, and for newly arrived immigrants still finding their footing, the financial pressure can be overwhelming.
