The Federal Government has stepped up efforts to support Nigerian youths, with the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA) commencing payment verification for beneficiaries of the Vocational and Skills Training Programme (VSTP), while the iDICE initiative moves ahead with a 30,000-person job training programme.
The twin developments are expected to strengthen skills development, improve access to economic opportunities and address payment challenges affecting some beneficiaries.

NSIPA begins VSTP payment reconciliation
NSIPA said it commenced payment reconciliation and account validation for VSTP beneficiaries on August 19, 2026.
The exercise is designed to resolve account-related problems that have prevented some participants from receiving payments.
According to the agency, beneficiaries whose bank account details were found to be invalid are being contacted and allowed to update and validate their information.
The agency said many affected participants have already completed the validation process, while others are yet to provide or correct their details.
Beneficiaries who have not completed the process have been given one week from August 19 to validate their account information.
NSIPA urged affected participants to use the window to ensure their bank details are accurate and valid, stressing that proper account information is necessary for payment processing.
However, beneficiaries who have already completed the validation process or received their transportation allowance have been advised to disregard the notice.
VSTP targets skills and economic opportunities
The Renewed Hope Vocational and Skills Training Programme is one of the Federal Government’s initiatives under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The programme is designed to provide Nigerians with practical vocational and technical skills that can improve their chances of securing jobs, starting businesses and earning sustainable incomes.
The latest reconciliation exercise is expected to clear outstanding account issues and make it easier for eligible participants to receive payments due to them.
For beneficiaries who have been waiting for payments because of account discrepancies, the validation process could provide an important opportunity to correct their information and avoid further delays.
iDICE training opens another opportunity
Alongside the VSTP payment verification exercise, the Federal Government is also advancing its iDICE programme, with 30,000 job training opportunities targeted at Nigerian youths.
