Nigerian gospel singer Neon Adejo has been pulled into a messy domestic dispute after his WhatsApp messages with a model became public, drawing significant attention online.
The drama centres on photographer David Martins and his wife Alicia, whose marriage has apparently collapsed under allegations of cheating, abuse, and neglect.

As the two traded accusations publicly, Neon Adejo found himself caught in the crossfire.
In the leaked chat, Adejo appeared to encourage the woman to send him a selfie, reassuring her that his wife would not see their conversation.
Alicia wrote: “I don’t want your wife to be like, why is she sending a selfie.”
Neon replied: “Stop it, she won’t even see my chats. Send me a selfie, I want to see youð. Let’s give this to bloggers, what do you think? I just sent you #150,000, I don’t know what that would do for you. Something to add to what you have.”
Neon Adejo Reacts to The Allegations
Adejo, however, offered an explanation for his behaviour. In a separate message, he wrote:
“The only reason I ever asked for a selfie was because, I had reached out to my friend’s company, whom I paid for to make your wife’s hair. I simply wanted to see how she looked afterwards. She was looking like who had been through a lot, and I reached out to my friend because I wanted to make sure she looked and felt like herself again.”
David Martins Hits Back at Abuse Claims
David Martins took to his Instagram story to deny being an abuser, flipping the narrative by accusing his wife Alicia of being the one who was abusive.
He shared what he described as supporting evidence, including information about Alicia’s disclosed anxiety and depression diagnosis from the early stages of their relationship, which he said she did not complete treatment for.
Beyond the abuse back-and-forth, Martins accused Alicia of infidelity, pointing to the leaked messages with Neon Adejo as proof of inappropriate behaviour.
He also claimed she had been in active contact with a former partner named Yemi. In a particularly pointed accusation, Martins alleged that Adejo encouraged Alicia to go public with her story through blogs, shared his photograph on a group chat, and incited people to assault him.
He also called out relationship commentator SolomonBuchi, claiming he is connected to Adejo.

Alicia Responds, Demands Justice
Alicia has since responded to her husband’s lengthy public statement. Rather than address each allegation point by point, she made clear that her primary concern is seeking justice for herself and her child.
She added pointedly that if the events in question had occurred in the United States, David would currently be behind bars.
