Davido dons ‘Bring Them Home’ jacket at World Cup concert

MTN ADVERT

Nigerian singer Davido drew attention to the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State on Wednesday after appearing in a jacket bearing the inscription “Bring Them Home” during his performance at the FIFA World Cup Countdown Concert in Los Angeles.

The custom-made jacket featured the names of 39 abducted schoolchildren and seven teachers from Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The incident, which occurred in May when armed men attacked schools in the Ahoro-Esinele community, led to the death of a school official and a motorcyclist during the raid, while a teacher later died in captivity, as previously reported by PREMIUM TIMES.

Davido later confirmed the gesture by resharing a post on X (formerly Twitter) which highlighted the outfit and described it as a reminder that the victims should not be forgotten.

The concert is part of FIFA’s global countdown activities ahead of the 2026 World Cup and featured performances from international artists across venues in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Davido shared the stage with acts including American DJ Diplo’s Major Lazer.
