Victor Osimhen Reacts After Scoring to Help Galatasaray Win 4th Consecutive Turkish Title

Galatasaray defeated Antalyaspor 4-2 in front of their fans at Rams Park in Istanbul, coming from behind to win with a spirited second-half performance.

Antalyaspor opened the scoring through Soner Dikmen to lead 1-0 at halftime. Mario Lemina equalised for Galatasaray in the second half, but Dikmen put Antalyaspor ahead again.

Osimhen scored twice, the first from the penalty spot, to turn the match around for Galatasaray before Kaan Ahyan, who replaced him, scored the fourth goal to seal the victory and secure the title.

The home fans started celebrations after the final whistle as the Lions won their fourth consecutive title and a record-extending 26th crown in history, seven more than closest rival Fenerbahce.

Osimhen speaks after title win

Victor Osimhen, who was influential in Galatasaray’s achievement, claimed that the manner in which they won the match proved why they are champions.

“This is the kind of game that shows why we are Galatasaray. We always come back from every difficulty, and I’m really happy with the team’s performance,” Osimhen told Bein Sport.

“We also have to say that the opponents gave us a great game. They gave us a hard time, but just as I said earlier, this is the reason we are Galatasaray, and we have come through. We have won the league, and now we have to celebrate.”

Osimhen’s season is over as he will not be on the pitch for Galatasaray in their final match away at Kasimpasa, due to suspension because of yellow card accumulation.

Galatasaray praises Osimhen

Galatasaray published a statement after the win, highlighting the contribution of each player to their title win and described Osimhen as an unfair advantage.

The club acknowledged his part in the successful season, particularly in the UEFA Champions League, where they reached the Round of 16.

Galatasaray scored 15 goals in the group stage, seven of which came from the Super Eagles forward, and he added three assists, winning the most man-of-the-match awards.

He also achieved his career’s longest goalscoring streak, six goals in five matches and also the most consecutive European matches scored in for Galatasaray with six.

His tally of 37 goals in 41 matches in all competitions last season was the highest of any player in the Turkish Super League in the last 25 years.

Okan Buruk reacts after title win

Legit.ng previously reported that Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk reacted after his team beat Antalyaspor to win their fourth consecutive title.

Buruk praised his players for their performances and urged them to immediately start looking forward to winning it next season to make it five in a row.
