Victor Osimhen delivered another commanding performance as Galatasaray thrashed newly-promoted Erzurumspor 4-0 on matchday two of the Turkish Super League, with the Nigerian international registering both a brace and an assist.
The result provided much-needed relief for the reigning champions, who had dropped points in their season opener, settling for a 2-2 home draw against Corum FK on matchday one.

Roland Sallai got Galatasaray off to a bright start, opening the scoring in the 12th minute. Eight minutes later, Osimhen played an unselfish role, teeing up Yunus Akgun to double the home side’s advantage rather than going for goal himself.
The Super Eagles forward did not wait long to add his name to the scoresheet. He got his first of the evening just before the interval, before wrapping up his brace deep in the second half to complete a convincing 4-0 victory.
Osimhen leads Golden Boot race
The result confirmed Osimhen as Galatasaray’s standout performer on the night. Having also scored twice in the opening fixture of the season, the Nigerian now has four league goals in just two appearances, placing him at the front of the early Golden Boot standings.
Galatasaray moved to four points on the table following their first win of the campaign. The club’s attention now turns to a home tie against Goztepe next week, as they look to build on the momentum from this result.
