Barcelona win historic LaLiga title after beating Real Madrid

FC Barcelona secured the LaLiga title in dramatic fashion after defeating fierce rivals Real Madrid in El Clasico, clinching the championship with three matches still left to play.

Barcelona entered the clash holding an 11-point lead over Madrid, meaning even a draw would have been enough to officially crown them champions. Instead, they sealed the title with an emphatic 2-0 victory in front of their home supporters.

The breakthrough came just nine minutes into the match when Marcus Rashford curled a stunning free-kick past Thibaut Courtois to give Barcelona the lead. The England forward, currently on loan from Manchester United, delivered one of his best moments since arriving in Spain, bending the ball into the top corner to ignite celebrations around the Nou Camp.

Barcelona doubled their advantage in the 18th minute through Ferran Torres, who calmly finished after finding space in the Madrid defence. The visitors struggled throughout the match and were without star forward Kylian Mbappe, who reportedly missed the game because of a muscle injury.

Jude Bellingham thought he had pulled a goal back for Madrid midway through the second half after finishing from close range, but the effort was ruled out for offside. The match also saw tempers flare after Trent Alexander-Arnold shoved Raphinha during a heated exchange, leading to a brief confrontation involving Vinicius Junior before the situation calmed down.

Barcelona’s injured teenage star Lamine Yamal later joined the celebrations on the pitch as fans marked the club’s latest league triumph. The title victory also represented another major success for manager Hansi Flick in his first season in charge of the Catalan side.
