Abdul’Aziz Yari, director-general of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will be re-elected by Nigerians in 2027.
Speaking at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, the Zamfara senator declared: “Today, we have seen him as president today, and by God’s grace, he shall be the president come 2027.”

APC presidential campaign council unveiled
The presidency recently announced the composition of the APC presidential campaign council, with Tinubu as chairman. Vice-President Kashim Shettima and Nentawe Yilwatda, APC national chairman, were listed among the council’s principal officials. Hope Uzodimma, governor of Imo state, was named secretary, while Yari was appointed director-general.
According to The Cable, the unveiling of the council has attracted criticism, particularly over the inclusion of serving public officials and individuals facing unresolved allegations. Among those drawing scrutiny are Betta Edu, former humanitarian affairs minister, and Ngozi Olejeme, former NSITF board chair, both linked to unresolved financial misconduct allegations.
Yari assures Nigerians of APC commitments
Despite the backlash, Yari insisted that the council would deliver Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027. He assured Nigerians that the APC would fulfil the promises made during the 2023 campaign:
“I want to assure Nigerians that whatever promise we made during the campaign, we shall keep to our promises. Our party is synonymous with keeping to our words.”
Prayers for Tinubu’s leadership
Yari also prayed for divine guidance for Tinubu, pledging that the campaign council would work towards fulfilling the administration’s commitments: “We pray that Almighty Allah will give him the wisdom to lead this country. We assure Nigerians that we shall fulfil all our campaign promises.”
The former Zamfara governor expressed confidence that the APC would remain in power beyond Tinubu’s possible second term: “We pray that our party will continue to be the party to lead the country after President Tinubu’s second term.”
APC names Arabinrin Aderonke to 2027 presidential campaign council
Legit.ng earlier reported that The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Arabinrin Aderonke as a member of its 2027 Presidential Campaign Council, assigning her the role of Coordinating Secretary for Media/Strategic Communications III.
Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga released the full council membership list on Saturday, August 22, 2026. The document includes prominent party figures and professionals placed across different units of the campaign structure. Aderonke joins the council with a background spanning journalism, strategic communications, policy, and public affairs.
She won the Wole Soyinka Investigative Reporting Award in 2013 and reached the finals of the CNN African Journalist Award in 2016. Beyond journalism, she has worked as an author and policy adviser, and holds affiliations with the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants, where she holds Fellowship status.
