Denmark’s 8 requirements for young applicants
According to the Danish authority, here are the requirements young foreigners between the ages of 18 and 19 must meet before they can be given a residency permit:
- Applicants must have been studying or working continuously since completing primary school
- Applicants must have 8 years of legal residency in Denmark
- Foreign applicants may not have been convicted of certain crimes
- Applicants may not have any overdue public debts
- Applicants may not have received certain types of social benefits
- Applicants need to make a declaration of residence and self-support
- Applicants need to pass the Danish language test 2
- Applicants may not have worked against the establishment of your identity
These conditions apply collectively, meaning an applicant who meets seven of the eight but falls short on one will not qualify under this particular route. The framework reflects Denmark’s broader approach to permanent residency, which has consistently emphasised integration, self-sufficiency, and a clean legal record as the pillars of eligibility.
