Meanwhile, Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory Minister, has been openly talking about assembling a large political coalition to back President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid. His framing suggests that the strength of any presidential run in 2027 will rest on the breadth of its political architecture, not its party platform.
Currently, the 2027 presidential race is between President Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC)’s Peter Obi.

Former APC senator joins PDP
Legit.ng earlier reported that Senator Saliu Mustapha picked the PDP senatorial nomination form on Friday, hours after announcing his resignation from the APC.
Mustapha’s move sets up a direct 2027 electoral clash with Kwara Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who holds the APC ticket for the same district.
Former Senate President Bukola Saraki and opposition stakeholders were reportedly involved in courting the senator to the PDP.
